Special Education and Section 504
Columbia Falls School District Six is committed to provide eligible students with disabilities access to a free appropriate public education (FAPE) in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. The district is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and serving students who may qualify for special education services or accommodations.
Child Find
Columbia Falls School District Six is committed to identifying, locating, and evaluating children from birth through age 21 who may have disabilities and require special education services. Through Child Find, the district works to ensure eligible students receive the support and services needed to access a free appropriate public education. If you know of a child who may have a disability and is not currently receiving services, please contact the Special Services Office.
Special Education Records Notice
Special education records are securely maintained and will be destroyed eight years after a student graduates or exits special education services, whichever occurs first. Families who would like a copy of their student's records before destruction should contact SD6 Special Services Department.
